Reverend Marti is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey from which he earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology & English. He also earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey. In 2010, he earned a Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, New Jersey where he also became the Seminary's first student in its 229-year history elected to its Board of Trustees.
He is currently a Candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree at United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio. Rev. Marti’s dissertation topic reflects his commitment to Education and Academic Excellence, “Closing the Educational Achievement Gap in Young Black Males Who Live in Single Parent Households”.
Reverend Marti is the former Pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Passaic, NJ, where the church grew numerically, financially, emotionally, mentally, socially, and most importantly spiritually. In just 5 short years of pastoral ministry at Bethel A.M.E. Church, in Passaic, NJ, a "significant" increase in membership took place, thousands of dollars of debt were eliminated, and the raising of $25,000 to restore the fellowship hall became a reality.
Bethel A.M.E. Church in Passaic, NJ, also practiced radical hospitality and extravagant generosity so that they could provide a safe, secure and holy spirit filled place of worship for families who were grappling, doubting, and/or wrestling with the vicissitudes of life. Also, during its 5 years of recovery, restoration & increase; Bethel A.M.E. Church, in Passaic, NJ resurrected itself to once again become a healthy & fruitful church by reestablishing its effective, committed & faithful leadership structure. More than 15 ministries were "thriving” and they included; but were not limited to the following: Worship & Arts Ministry, Y.A.D.I.G.G. Ministry (Young Adults Delivered in God's Greatness), and the Steppers for Christ.
He was so committed to academic excellence at Bethel A.M.E. Church, in Passaic, NJ, that he also birthed the Sons of Issachar Young Men’s Ministry that primarily focused on young males, grades 1 through 12 becoming passionate about education, reading and developing into 360 Degree leaders. Also, Reverend Marti created the Robinson Foundation of Academic Excellence where young scholars, grades 1 through college, were formally recognized and rewarded for their excellence in academics, and community service.
Reverend Marti has received numerous honors and awards for his outstanding service to the church and the community such as the 2011 Spirituality Award from the I Can Foundation which recognized his commitment to spirituality and empowering youth to new levels of success. He was awarded Teacher of the Year at the 2012 1st Episcopal District Church School Seminar, which took place at Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Church, in Philadelphia, PA. In 2013, Reverend Marti received the Man of the Year award from Edison Job Corps, Edison, NJ.
He is also uniquely gifted and well versed to share on various platforms and with distinct audiences. Reverend Marti served as a presenter at the 2011 Christian Education Congress on the campus of Delaware State University in Dover, DE. In 2012 he was the moderator at the Administration of Children and Families Mid-Year Roundtable in New York, NY. In both 2014 and 2015 respectively, Reverend Marti facilitated workshops at the St. Luke A.M.E. Church, Newark, NJ’s Annual Men’s Retreat. In 2016 he imparted practical pearls of wisdom for the “All Things Fresh” Youth Conference at St. Matthew A.M.E. Church in Orange, NJ. In December 2017 Reverend Marti was invited to share relevant insight and sound biblically based teaching at Lebanon Baptist Church in Westwood, NJ for its Equipping Men for Tomorrow Workshop.
As a reflection of his deep seeded commitment to his historic denomination; he serves as the Chief Marshal in the New Jersey Annual Conference for the First Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. In March 2017 Reverend Marti took full advantage of an exciting opportunity to experience missions & multicultural learning as he expanded his horizons by traveling to Pretoria, South Africa. Along with many Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists, Psalmists, Apostles & Bishops from the Full Gospel Church of God; Reverend Marti preached multiple times at the Bethesda Revival Church in Johannesburg, South Africa and he taught several “Next-Level Training” biblically based workshops at the Full Gospel Church of God College in Gauteng, South Africa. In addition, he donated toys, clothes, books and toiletries to hundreds of children at the Good Samaritan Orphanage in Ga-Rankuwa, South Africa.
Reverend Marti was overwhelmed by a diverse group of God’s people who were both hungry and thirsty for the transformative Word of God. This life changing experience has confirmed his calling to go the nations and preach the liberating, healing, delivering, and saving message of Jesus Christ. Reverend Marti lives in faith, talks with faith, and walks by faith as his favorite scripture is Hebrews 11:1, where the Bible says that: "Now faith, is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". He enjoys all kinds of music, watching movies, exercising, hanging out at Barnes & Noble, drinking coffee from Starbucks, meeting wise people, and spending lots of time with his partner in life and ministry; his lovely wife, Chantel Brown Robinson. Reverend Marti is eternally grateful and extremely appreciative of Chantel and the "head over heels in love with each other couple" reside in Laurence Harbor, NJ.
